We Cannot Afford to Lower Defense Spending
While the United States defense budget has gone down since 2010, threats to national security have only increased. This disconnect shows that the threats against the United States were not properly addressed and that recent defense cuts were misguided. With so much at stake, congress has a responsibility to formulate a long term plan to give the military proper funding and promote national security. In order to provide the military with the tools it needs to succeed, congress must approve a plan to restore defense funding to $691 billion and ensure sufficient funding for future years.
